Before the bell rings at 3:15 for dismissal, have the class get quite using the 3-2-1 method described earlier, so that they can hear the announcements.  Make sure that the floors are clean, tables are straightened and chairs pushed in before they leave.  Dismiss students based on bus #s called and if they are walkers or car riders.

 

Locations for duty vary from week to week. If "duty" is assigned during the time that you are substituting for me you will need to see the office for your location.  Regardless, you will always have lunch and recess duty on duty weeks.  Lunch duty lasts from 10:53 - 11:08, and then at 11:08 you will go outside with the 6th graders for recess duty until 11:23.  I weather is poor then you will take the band inside for recess in the band hall.  The band teacher usually has a video prepared for them to watch, or you can play "Silent Ball" with them.  The rules are on the home page of this website.  The balls are in the overhead cabinets on the left side of the classroom.  They are oversized, green tennis balls.  They love this game.  Have fun!
